She has authored over 15 fiction and poetry books, many of which became widely popular among the younger generation. Her most notable works include **Nostalgia, Troirashik, Pakhi o Somragge, Shobdoutshob, Paltae Nari, Bahari, Jalpai Opochhondo Je Karone,** and **Korotite Mrittu**.

Her principal genre of work is poetry, crafted in a metaphorical and lyrical form. Her fiction, thought-provoking and evocative, explores the intricacies of human relationships, often portraying themes of abstraction and existential solitude.

Afsana began her writing career in 2000, contributing to major newspapers in Bangladesh. Her insightful work earned her the **Best Feature Writer** award from **Prothom Alo**, one of the country’s most prominent Bangla newspapers. Born on March 8, 1978, in Dhaka, she completed her post-graduation at **Dhaka University** before serving as a top-ranking officer in a private bank. Since 2019, she has been residing in Canada with her family.
